A. SCC policies review & changes
- 2 year terms for all elected members now (school staff serves 2 years) Article 3 Section 2
- 1 community member, 3 parents, 2 students, 4 staff ( 1 principal, 1 certified, 1 non-certified)
- Nominations for 2016-2017 will be due March 15 (Introduced at Community Meeting on March 11)
- creating a press release (Lynn Araki-Regan will create draft by late February)
III. Reports
A. Student report (Emily Stafford)
- leadership day will be Tuesday, March 15
- the theme is "Team: Together, Everyone's Aloha Matters"
- are their any community members to come to school on March 15? (8am-11am)
- Mayor, Council Members, DOE Superintendent, Police and Fire Chief, Governor, Lt. Governor, SCC Board
- More detail on last year’s scores? (Mr. Okamoto)
- Current Gap Rate is 58%
- goal is to close the gap by focusing on SPED, Free-Reduced Lunch Population
- what focus these kids have based on the Common Core Standards
- Teachers are currently going through GLAD training
- SPED teachers are going through mandatory training that IEP are based on Common Core Standards
- RTI - making sure iReady and Dibels data needs are being addressed
IV. New Business
A. Wellness policy development (Mr. Dillon)
- Obesity a problem for students
- Meals served on campus were audited
- School needs to create a Wellness Policy
- School created a Wellness Committee (Mr. Dillon, Cafeteria Manager, etc.)
- Needs to have a Committee, Nutritional Standards, Health & Nutrition Education, Physical Education and Activity
- Suggestions and ideas were brought up
- Meals served on campus were audited

- nominees for next year should be brought up
V. Continuing business
A. Communication processes- what should we be doing?
- creating a brochure explaining who the SCC is and purpose
- placing it at the PTSA movie night, in the main office
- also including it in the school newsletter
- Lynn Araki-Regan to create the brochure for SCC
B. Transition and election process

C. Rotation activities- how do we evaluate their success?
